Life is a journey; a lesson in personal growth and fulfillment. “I absolutely believe that people need to excel at what is spiritually satisfying.” Pauwilo strives to be a high achiever and creative thinker. It is a mindset that has served her well, again and again. A native Hawaiian, Pauwilo was born and raised in West O‘ahu and Honolulu.
Over the last two decades, Pauwilo has blended her creative writing skills and business acumen for the benefit of Fortune 100 companies including Verizon Communications, Time Warner, Disney, and Coca-Cola. An experienced public relations strategist, Pauwilo has served as a successful spokesperson for one of Hawai’i’s top credit union’s, with assets over one billion dollars. As director of communications for the labor union representing the state’s fire fighters, Pauwilo worked with technology vendors to design a website that reflected the history of the department while connecting members in new and exciting ways. “I believe in being relevant, flexible, and open to new ways of building relationships; whether it be between leadership, employees or customers.”
Pauwilo’s experience in television was honed at KHON (Honolulu) where she lived a double life; sales assistant by day, news intern at night and assistant producer for special projects on weekends. A stint as news director at KCCN/KINE FM (Honolulu) followed. She has freelanced for global performance events featuring Sir Elton John and Britney Spears. Pauwilo was producer-in-charge for the first live in Hawai’i concert featuring N’Sync in 1998 at Aloha Stadium.
In 2000, Pauwilo was honored to produce an exclusive Waikiki Beach concert for the State of Hawai’i and the global Millennium Young People’s Congress.
Pauwilo is a former 2002 Ms. Classic Beauty™, 2002 – 2003 Ms. World™ and La Reina de Esperanza™/Queen of Hope™. In 2003, she received a lifetime appointment as Ms. Worldwide Ambassador based on her service-giving. Pauwilo pens several features: “Honolulu Everyday People” and “Celebrity Dish Drops™” on Examiner.com, and Look: Everyday People on this site. Future goals include the development of HA:CT™ (high achievers : creative thinkers™), a program for success mentoring and service-giving through the Arts.
The benefits of freelance employment have provided Pauwilo with the flexibility to raise a basketball team (family), two Rottweilers, and a dozen carp in beautiful Honolulu, Hawai‘i.
